These Are My People

Free To Relax Team Leadership Retreat -- Summer 2009

I love being challenged in my business. Recently, I was challenged by a friend of mine to take a deep look at my “target market” — or in layman’s terms, my people.

My initial thought was that I have been in this business for 7 years. I know who my people are. 

Oh… but I really had no idea. 

This exercise left me feeling so touched, so convicted, so compelled to find every single one of my “people” and share my message with them. Not for my own benefit, but for theirs.

If you are in business, I encourage you to take half an hour and go on this journey with yourself. Take a trip into your heart and get in touch with your people. Figure out their hurts, their problems, their struggles. Because if you can do that, then you put yourself in a position to change the lives of thousands.

That being said, I would like to ask your permission to share my people with you.

These people are the reason I do what I do.

Who are my people… 

My people are struggling MLMers. My people have a dream that they refuse to give up on, but they need help. They are tired of trying the same old thing and getting the same old crappy results. They are burned out on calling leads. They are fed up with spending money on ads. They aren’t afraid of investing in their business, but they are sick and tired of being sick and tired.

My people have tried lots of things. They want to be somewhere that will allow them to make money today while building a team for tomorrow. They are fed up with shakes and juices and vitamins. They are looking for a product that is easy to sell and that people keep coming back for. 

My people are looking for community. They are tired of being alone and they want to be somewhere that will give them the training and support they need. But more than that, they are looking for camaraderie. A feeling of team. A feeling of not being alone. 

My people are committed to this industry but they struggle with being committed to themselves. They law awake at night and wonder if they are good enough, skilled enough, if they are even enough at all. They ARE enough! They need someone to believe in them, but more than that they need someone to teach them how to believe in themselves. 

My people need to learn the skills to boost their self-confidence and give them the tools they need to step into a leadership mindset. They need to be inspired, encouraged and uplifted, but they are looking for more than just fluff. They want real skills. They want substance. 

My people are afraid they will never make it in Network Marketing. They are fed up and frustrated, but more than that they are just scared! They wonder if they are in the right place or with the right people, and they wonder if such a place even exists. They are looking to follow someone who knows that it does exist. They are looking to follow someone who can show them the way. 

My people are hungry. They are hungry for freedom, for time, for money, for recognition, for security, for passion, for wealth and for lifestyle. They have tasted it but that taste has only left them wanting more. They know it’s possible, because they’ve seen it happen for other people. What they need is to know it is possible for them. 

My people are fed up with hype. They want a real company with a real product for real people. They are hungry for transparency, for authenticity, and for a human connection. They are tired of trying to shove products down people’s throats and of trying to convince people they need something they don’t want. They are looking for a product that makes people smile, and keeps them coming back for more. 

My people struggle with marketing over-priced products when people can easily purchase something of equal quality at a lower price. They also struggle with making any real money with low profit margins and high quotas. They want to see something that is real, offered at a competitive price point and allows them to put real cash in their pocket today. They are wondering if there is even such a thing as this. They want someone to show them that there is.My people are tired of high autoships and even higher entry points. They are tired of it for themselves, and are even more tired of trying to push it on others. They are looking for something that offers value, and they are sick and tired of cheap or free programs with no real substance. They want to be shown something that is real.
